How will that benefit me?
The mCareWatch is water resistant and can be worn in the shower.
Every device has a pre-installed SIM card with a mobile number.
How will that benefit me?
Wearer will not need to carry a smartphone around with them. The watch is standalone mobile phone can make and receive calls.
Up to three contact numbers (mobile or landline) can be pre-set on the device, when the SOS button is activated.
How will that benefit me?
Device automatically dials the pre-set contacts and also will provide an alert (SMS) to pre-set contacts when an SOS call was made.
The carer’s web portal and mobile app can provide the latest location of the wearer by simply pressing the on demand button.
How will that benefit me?
Carers can receive the real-time location of the wearer within seconds.
When the device detects a fall, it will ask the wearer if they are OK and if they do not respond the device will automatically call the SOS preset contacts. NOTE: this feature will drain the battery and require more frequent recharging of the device. Important: This feature cannot detect all falls.
How will that benefit me?
SOS contacts can be called automatically without the wearer pressing any buttons, if the device detects a sudden fall. Device will also send an SMS alert to carers if it detects a fall. Carers can also adjust the sensitivity via the carer’s portal lowering the false positives that may be generated.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Battery draining
The watch must remain operational throughout the day, which means it’s constantly active. This contributes to a quicker depletion of the battery, and 3 days battery life will not be possible.
Fall Detection Accuracy
The fall detection feature is dependent on the sensitivity of the sensors and the wearer’s specific situation. It might not always accurately identify every fall, leading to potential false negatives. This makes this feature a reliable companion, but it is not failsafe and cannot detect every fall.
Tip
It’s vital for users to view the fall detection feature as a valuable aid rather than a failsafe. If the wearer is not incapacitated, they can activate an SOS call. When activated, the SOS button initiates calls to the pre-set SOS contacts in case of an emergency, ensuring immediate assistance.
When the device detects no physical movement from the wearer, the watch will conduct a Welfare Check and make an SOS call if there is no response or acknowledgement from the wearer.
How will that benefit me?
If the wearer is incapacitated and unable to press the SOS button or respond to the welfare check, the watch will still be able to call the SOS contacts without the need for the wearer to press any buttons.
Access to mCare’s ConnectiveCare web portal and Mobile app, which allows carers to connect and access the device anywhere and anytime.
How will that benefit me?
Unlike other personal alarms, carers are able to change, update and configure the device settings via the web portal and not by sending SMS commands, which are a security flaw and allow anyone else to access the device information and location details.
The device can be set to only allow incoming calls from the pre-set and authorised contacts.
How will that benefit me?
Eliminates spam calls from unauthorised callers (e.g. telemarketers).
